Visited Ashford North Residents’ Association to Hear their Opinions on Policing
Lively meeting at ANRA. Main topics included burglary, antI-social behaviour and need for more police visibility. I think Surrey Police do a good job with the resources they have, but they could do with more. The 100 officers and staff being recruited now will help significantly, and residents should notice the difference soon.
Surrey’s share of the government’s ‘20,000’ police officers will help too next year, although the county has, as usual, not been given their fair allocation. But make no mistake, this uplift will just bring national force levels up to where they were before the cuts began - police forces will take a long time to recover.
