Smaller Police Forces Should Merge

Here’s my letter published in the ‘Times’ last Wednesday 8 January, calling for police mergers and particularly for a re-examination of what police forces should do locally and what is best done at a national level. I’ve written to the Home Office before in similar vein.

I’ve had lots of support so I hope the government listen and undertake a thorough review of the whole subject - the safety of our residents depends upon it.
