Police recruiting - the catch up will take years

Glad that the Tories have said they’ll recruit an extra 20,000 police officers - but that’s only the number they reduced police forces by in their decade of austerity. The police will take years to recover from having to turn away tens of thousands of excellent recruits because they couldn’t afford them.
